About The Event
Father's that are going through divorce, whether it be recent or distant, an outlet to speak out with other people going through the same trauma in a safe, inclusive environment. This can also be a class to discuss suggestions for amicable communication strategies between estranged spouses and children, expectations for more recent divorcees and how to circumvent/prepare for the current legal system, rationales to process the trauma and how to transition into a healthier sense of self, all taking culture, age, and other personal variables into account.
- Finding common ground, companionship, and support among those who are struggling with their own transitions, loss of identity and common mental health struggles (depression, anxiety, etc) that come with either sudden or long-term divorces.
- Developing rationalizations, grounding, and other techniques to assist in daily struggles of estranged fathers (how to handle children and ever-changing dynamics in the household, moving on to other partners, finding a sense of self after separation, etc.)
