Jay Barnett joined Inside Fitness 360 as a sought after youth leadership and mental well-being mentor. After his time in the NFL, Jay has made it his mission to lead and guide today's youth through group programs and curriculum while providing encouragement, tools, resources and the support needed to begin the journey of evolving into the young men and women they desire to be.
With over 10 years of highly skilled and acclaimed mentoring and success stories, public speaking, business experience and most importantly, real-life, his view is radically different. Jay appreciates and shares with his mentees that leadership is a moment to moment choice and not about title and position. Leadership is for everyone - it's a choice and it's how we should live our lives.
Also, as a leader in the community, Jay serves as the senior consultant and Master Teen Mentor with his Sugarland, Texas based organizations: The Me Project and The We Project which serves at risk teens, ages 13-18. Working with Jay, teens developed self-esteem, self-worth, value for their bodies and strong mindsets.

Counseling
Welcome to Inside Fitness Counseling!
We at Inside Fitness have put together a team consisting of some of the most remarkable, diverse, and talented therapists in the industry. Our counselors utilize their wide range of experiences to bring clients cutting edge techniques presented in a culturally relevant manner. From the moment clients contact our office, our goal is to support you in your own process of healing, growth, and development with respect for the amazing, unique individual you already are.
Many of us have accumulated beliefs, behaviors, and outlooks which are blocking us from a healthy, fulfilling life. Families, couples, and individuals will find an open, accepting environment where your needs and wishes are met with respect. Our therapists use a variety of proven approaches to provide guidance while you seek out solutions that will work best for you.
Counseling is all about the client. You are the expert in your own life. While you may have recognized unhelpful behavioral patterns, encountered challenges, or experienced deeply hurtful events, you do not have to continue your life in a place of pain and frustration. Our counseling provides a judgement free space with a trained professional who can help guide you through challenges to unlock the full potential hidden within.
Our practice is located in the heart of Frisco and we offer counseling for individuals, teens and adolescence, couples, families, groups and athletes.

Couples Counseling
It is difficult for any of us to feel distant or disconnected from our partner. Couples, both satisfied and unsatisfied, desire romance, communication and intimacy with their partner.
Many couples begin counseling because they feel they are no longer on the same page, or the same team and are not who they used to be as a person or couple.
Our counselors will hold a safe space for couples to be heard and to foster healing by exploring wounds that may have been carried into the relationship.

General Counseling
Like in any workout program, every now and then we need an individual to step in and work with us to overcome plateaus when nothing seems to work to achieve the results we want. Such is the same with life. At times on our individual journeys we encounter challenges that leave us stuck and needing a friend to walk with us as we navigate through these times.
Your counselor will start by analyzing the symptoms of how the challenges are presenting themselves in your life. Common manifestations are, depression, anxiety, stress, fear, feelings of low self-esteem, unworthiness and anger to name a few. We work together with the client in identifying the strengths and talents that have helped them overcome life challenges in the past, and move onto determining the next steps to help them move forward on their journey.
Teen Counseling
The risk-taking, defiance, and turmoil typical of adolescence can leave parents feeling worried, exhausted, confused, and frustrated. While the adolescent’s behaviors may be normal for their life stage and personal development, it can take a toll on the parents, siblings, and the rest of the family who interact with them and care about them.
During life transitions like divorce, death or blending a family, teens are usually forgotten. Usually they shout for help in ways that are seen as behavioral issues. Improving your communication and relationship during this life stage is not only possible, but equally desired by both teen and parent. Our counselors will help you and your teen find ways to eliminate the struggle and enhance your relationship to make this stage a smoother life transition.
Art & Play Therapy
For our younger clients, ages 7-12, our counselors have extensive training in developmental psychology in children, and will tailor their approach to the child's developmental stage using therapeutic intervention. We will also take into account the child's personality, home environment, and school setting to assess the impact from which the behavior has developed.
Most often, children communicate through play and art than through conversation, which has proven to be an effective method of therapy for our little ones.
It is our goal to develop a safe space and co-support for both the child and parent(s) to foster alignment within the parent / child relationship.
Family Counseling
Each family is unique. No family is perfect, and we all have "stuff" to work through.
Each family has strengths and qualities that bring them together and keep them together. At times these strengths may go unnoticed, unused, or simply forgotten.
At Inside Fitness it is our focus to help families recognize their strengths and have more productive conversations, interactions, and relationships. We will provide the tools you need to begin to resolve and minimize family issues and focus on enjoying each other again.
Therapy for Men
Men face a unique set of challenges, pressure and societal expectations. We have a vested interest in walking with men through trauma, healing, being a husband, friend and a father to support them and help build a strong foundation in their mental health and life.
Our counselors understand the diverse need to provide ethical and culturally tailored, unbiased attention to the needs of men that seek counseling with us. We will hold space for men to develop their emotional language, and express their inner conflicts.
