Counseling for Athletes.
While coaches typically focus on the physical side of sport, Counseling focuses on athletes' minds. Counseling can helps athletes:
Enhance performance. Various mental strategies, such as visualization, self-talk and relaxation techniques, can help athletes overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
Cope with the pressures of competition. Sport counseling can help athletes at all levels deal with pressure from parents, coaches or even their own expectations.
Recover from injuries. After an injury, athletes may need help tolerating pain, adhering to their physical therapy regimens or adjusting to being sidelined.
Keep up an exercise program. Even those who want to exercise regularly may find themselves unable to fulfill their goal. Counseling can help these individuals increase their motivation and tackle any related concerns.
Enjoy sports. Sports organizations for young people may hire a Counselor to educate coaches about how to help kids enjoy sports and how to promote healthy self-esteem in participants.
Each family is unique. There are no perfect families like the Huxtables or the Cleavers. We all have “stuff” in our families. Each family has strengths and qualities that bring them together and keep them together. At times these strengths may go unnoticed, unused, or simply forgotten. At Inside Fitness it is our focus to help families recognize their strengths and have more productive conversations, interactions, and relationships. We will provide the tools you need to begin to resolve and minimize family issues and focus on enjoying each other again
The risk-taking, defiance, and turmoil typical of adolescence can leave parents feeling worried, exhausted, confused, and frustrated. While the adolescent’s behaviors may be normal for their life stage and personal development, it can take a toll on the parents, siblings, and the rest of the family who interact with them and care about them.
During life transitions like divorce, death or blending a family, teens are usually forgotten. Usually they shout for help in ways that are seen as behavioral issues. Improving your communication and relationship during this life stage is not only possible, but equally desired by both teen and parent. At Inside Fitness Counseling we want to help you and your teen find ways to eliminate the struggle and enhance your relationship to make this stage a smoother life transition. We have developed a 12 step program which covers a broad spectrum of the challenges that teens today face and provides coping tools for them.

Couples coming to counseling may feel that the relationship has failed them in some way and they want to find how to regain strength, balance, or hope in areas they feel their relationship is lacking.
Your relationship does not have to feel exhausting nor be perfect. At Inside Fitness, we want to help you and your partner work towards the relationship you each desire. We offer therapy sessions for couples of all types and stages: pre-marital, married, re-married, co-habitating, co-parenting, blended families, separating, and everything in between!.
Like in any workout program, every now and then we need an individual to step in and work with us to overcome plateaus when nothing seems to work to achieve the results we want. Such is the same with life. At times on our individual journeys we encounter challenges that leave us stuck and needing a friend to walk with us as we navigate through these times.
At Inside Fitness we start by analyzing the symptoms of how the challenges are presenting themselves in your life. Common manifestations are , depression, anxiety, stress, fear, feelings of low self esteem, unworthiness and anger to name a few.We work together with the client in identifying the strengths and talents that have helped them overcome life challenges in the past, and move onto determining the next steps to help them move forward on their journey toward being their authentic self.
